The owners, Ilya Demichev and George Bukhov-Weinstein, are also behind Pinna, Belvedere, Wild Izakaya, Chelsea Grill and several other restaurants. It all started with Goodman: what began as a single restaurant in Moscow grew into a chain of American-style steakhouses (remember them?).But back to London. In short: the restaurant made a very good impression.Would I come back? No.The cuisine is Mediterranean, with a focus on local, seasonal and sustainable produce. So the menu features oysters, sea bass, sea bream, squid and prawns, and, of course, meat.— Sea bream, agretti. Very delicate fish, simply done.— Prime grass-fed UK beef fillet. An excellent steak, even after we asked for it medium well.— Bluefin tuna tartare, avocado. A simple classic, and the tuna was delicious.— Grilled Cornish squid, mojo verde. To me, the sauce didn't quite fit the dish, but that's subjective. Objectively, the squid was beautifully cooked.— Apple crumble pie & vanilla ice cream. Too sweet for my taste. Even between the two of us, we struggled to finish it.In my experience, the prices are inflated. Funny, because I said exactly the same about their Pinna last year. £34 for sea bream with no sides, however perfectly cooked? The bill for two came to over £200 without alcohol.Overpriced, or just the new London reality?
