Interesting facts:-In 1866 and 1908, London’s first indoor Olympic Games were held in this building!-The building is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.-Look up at the ceiling — you can see the original hooks that were used for rope climbing and aerial feats.Highlights:🔸BUTCHER’S PLATE with pork knuckle, sausages and frankfurters, black pudding, sauerkraut, and potato dumplings — the only issue is the pork knuckle, which was a bit dry. Otherwise, an excellent set for about three people to try everything at once;🔸Fast, efficient, and friendly service; the waiters wear traditional costumes.Downsides:🔻Dirty tables. I can’t say for all of them, but the ones around me definitely were, which creates an impression of an untidy place;🔻The fish fingers, although freshly prepared, had an off smell and an unpleasant aftertaste;🔻The Sacher-Torte wasn’t a real Sacher: a rather unremarkable chocolate cream instead of a glossy chocolate glaze. I’m upset — it’s my favourite cake 🙂To sum up, I’m inclined to think that I’m open to exploring other German restaurants before coming back here again.
