Casa Felicia is an Italian neighbourhood trattoria that opened less than a year ago in Queen's Park, and it seems to have fitted in rather nicely with the local food scene.I walked past it every single day and finally went in for:"Crudo di tonno" - raw tuna, anchovy dressing, tropea onion, Amalfi lemon. Good tuna, a lot of salt."Panzanella" - cucumber, Sorrento tomatoes, onion, seasonal fruits, croutons. A great seasonal salad that ought to refresh, but again the amount of salt shifts the focus. The chef seems rather fond of it."Calamaro alla brace" - squid skewer, friggitelli, salsa. Good seafood, questionable plating. Photo attached: a bit of chaos on the plate, I'd call the presentation debatable. No complaints about the mains, namely:"Rigatone genovese" - slow-cooked beef and onion ragu, smoked cheese. Rich, dense, the meat falling apart into strands, and a light smokiness rounds the whole thing off."Cotoletta alla bolognese" - pork chop, mortadella, parmesan fondue. And again I have questions about the plating. To my mind, it needs some thought here. The pork is tender, blanketed in mortadella and melted cheese. A worthy dish, I'd order it again. The service here is Michelin-style - every dish explained as it's set down - which raised a logical question: are they aiming for the Michelin Selected list? If so, we come to the sore subject of desserts. In short: the dessert menu needs changing, urgently)))Fragole, chantilly, crumble - strawberries, chantilly cream, crumble. Too simple, boring, the cream very much an acquired taste.Delizia al limone - a boring sponge dessert. On top of that, the menu has tiramisu (predictable, but okay) and a croissant with ice cream! As a student of the traditional French school of baking, I hid my twitching eye, but each to their own, as they say.Overall impression: mixed. Making a special trip - definitely not. If you live nearby, it's worth dropping in now and then, checking in advance what's on the menu (which changes with regular frequency).
