“Bar Remo” is a family-run Italian restaurant located on Princes Street, right in the heart of London, near Oxford Circus. It has been operated by the Vignali family for over 90 years, since 1933, and serves traditional Italian cuisine.I stopped by for a quick lunch at 1 PM — the restaurant was nearly full. I was guided to a table, placed my order, and asked for the food to be served at the time promised by the waiter (I was on a tight schedule) — and right on the dot, 10 minutes later, the dishes arrived:GRILLED OCTOPUS, MIX LEAF SALAD, PEPPERS, RADISHES WITH A LEMON & OLIVE OIL DRESSING — the octopus was perfectly cooked, tender in texture, but overly salty. I love salty food, but even for me, it was too much. Also, be aware — it’s generously peppered.LINGUINE FRUTTI DI MARE, SEAFOOD, WHITE WINE & A TOUCH OF TOMATO SAUCE — an excellent seafood pasta. The squid — oh my god — was cleaned! This seems to be the first place in London where they actually remove the membrane when cooking squid. Definitely recommended.SPAGHETTI CARBONARA, PANCETTA, EGG, CREAM & PARMESAN (OR CLASSIC ITALIAN) — incredibly creamy, with a melted cheese flavor and smoky pieces of bacon creating an amazing combination. I also recommend the Carbonara. The service was fast and well-coordinated. Despite the restaurant being full, everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere is a bit mixed. When booking, I recommend choosing a table on the ground floor rather than downstairs — it’s quite tight, noisy, and a little stuffy.I recommend this place — and suggest booking a table in advance! But please, less salt for octopus
