Boulevard Brasserie

I stopped by a French “Brasserie Boulevard” for a quick bite. I just found it by chance near Covent Garden. Hunger was kicking in, so I decided to go in and get a table inside. No luck — the brasserie was full , and I was offered a table outside. Despite the cold, curiosity won, and I sat outdoors.My mood was very “take me to Paris”, so I went for my favourite French classics: onion soup and escargots.The smell of the onion soup hit me the moment the bowl landed on the table — and not in a good way. No hint of caramelised onions; instead, it was heavily peppered with a faint note of stock cube (remember those?). A couple of spoonfuls were enough — I sent it back.The escargots were edible, but the presentation wasn’t classic — served without shells, which makes the dish far less appealing.The coffee was awful. No comments needed. It tasted as if the same coffee puck had been used five times instead of once. Even though no one asked, I still mentioned that both the soup and the coffee were terrible. The waiter shrugged, clearly showing he didn’t care. First time I’ve seen a reaction like this)) I suppose they have more than enough customers already - they don’t need any opinions.Overall, I strongly do not recommend this place!
